Dance classes for children ages 7–10 in the Netherlands

Ages 7–10 are a great time to discover dance and build on skills already gained. At this age, children are actively learning to control their bodies, feel music better, memorize movements faster, and start to show their own character in dance.

Talent Center DDC invites children ages 7–10 to dance classes in the Netherlands. Our programs suit both beginners stepping into a dance studio for the first time and children who already have experience.

What matters most is the desire to move, learn new things, and enjoy dancing.

How do classes for children ages 7–10 work?

Training follows a from-simple-to-complex approach.

There’s no need to worry if a child finds it hard to memorize movements, lacks coordination, or feels a bit stiff at first. This is a natural part of learning.

The choreographer gradually introduces children to basic movements and dance combinations, then adds more complex elements.

Special attention is paid to proper technique, musicality, coordination, and the child’s confidence.

We aim to create an atmosphere where children aren’t afraid to make mistakes, try new things, and express themselves.

What do dance classes develop?

Regular classes help a child develop more than just dance skills.

In training, children work on:

  • coordination and body control;
  • sense of rhythm and musicality;
  • flexibility and overall physical fitness;
  • memory and concentration;
  • basic dance technique;
  • fluidity and expressiveness of movement;
  • the ability to remember choreographic combinations;
  • improvisation and creative thinking;
  • self-confidence;
  • the ability to interact with other children.

Dance combines physical activity, creativity, music, and social interaction, making it an engaging alternative to regular sports clubs.

What if the child has never danced before?

You can start from scratch.

Previous choreography training is not a requirement for joining a beginner-level group.

Children develop at different speeds. One child may pick up rhythm easily, another may find flexibility easy, and a third may need more time to memorize a combination.

That’s why it’s important for us to see each student as an individual and help them develop at their own pace.

What dance styles suit children ages 7–10?

Depending on the location and schedule, Talent Center DDC offers various modern dance styles for children.

These may include:

Hip-Hop • Jazz Funk • Contemporary • Kids Dance • modern dance

Each style has its own character. Some children love the energy and freedom of Hip-Hop, others prefer the brightness of Jazz Funk, and some connect more with the fluidity and emotion of Contemporary.

If you’re not sure which style to choose, you can start with a trial lesson and meet the choreographer.

Dance also means new friends

For a child, a dance school is more than just a place to train.

Group classes help children meet each other, communicate, support one another, and learn to work as a team.

Gradually, the child becomes part of a group with whom they learn new routines, grow, and gain new experiences.

For many students, the team, the choreographer, and friends become one of the main reasons they enjoy coming back to class.

Performances and stage experience

As they progress, Talent Center DDC students may get the chance to take part in dance events, concerts, and other school projects.

Taking the stage is a special experience.

A child learns to cope with nerves, work together with a team, showcase the results of their work, and feel more confident in front of an audience.

Our goal isn’t just the result on stage. It matters to us that the child enjoys the learning process and wants to keep developing.
